Overview

  • Completion Date
    October 2017
  • Location
    Abbeywood, UK
  • Client
    Balfour Beatty

Location

The South East Section links the central section of the Elizabeth line through the Plumstead portal to the new Abbeywood station and turn back facilities located at the station.

The project interfaces with new sidings on the north of the Plumstead Portal.

Delivery

The Hedson Rail delivery team successfully installed and tested the complete OLE and bonding system well within the required energisation timescales.

This included managing a very challenging and complex interface between the wider Crossrail works and the station work Balfour Beatty is delivering on Network Rail’s behalf.

Completion

We are proud to say that there were zero accidents or incidents during the construction of the work.

With over 30,000 man hours completed between April and October 2017, the installation was of the highest quality with the engineering team delivering handback documentation within 1 week of the works completion.
