Scope of Work

Hedson Rail is providing Permanent Way survey and design, as well as technical construction expertise for Network Rail works delivery teams in Kent & Sussex. Our teams currently undertake all aspects from scoping works through to hand-back for a rolling programme of heavy maintenance works.

Roles Provided:

Hedson Rail is supplying dedicated Permanent Way Technical teams to support Network Rail to ensure the engineering compliance for track survey, design and installation. The technical team consists of:

Lead Engineering Manager
Principal Technical Engineers
Technical officers
Handback engineers
Level 3 stressing engineers
TQS competant engineers

Services Provided:

Full technical geometry survey
Design development for horizontal, vertical, gauging and clearances
Measuring and ordering of S&C
Setting out prior to installation
On-site management for installation during possession weekends, including; excavation and ballast control with lasers, track alignment control during installation, tamping
Follow-up tamping, stressing and handback
Completion of as-built documentation, records and reports
