The Great Western Electrification Programme (GWEP) is one of the largest electrification upgrades the UK has ever undertaken. Installing the new Series 1 Overhead Line System, the programme will provide electrification for the latest Hitachi Trains from Maidenhead through Reading, Bristol up to Oxford and out as far as Swansea.
