We announced back in January that Hedson Rail had been providing project management, estimating and engineering support to the East Kent Resignalling (EKR) project, from early GRIP stages through to delivery. The project has been progressing well and is now fully into the delivery phase.
In addition to this, we are now providing project possession and SSOW planning management as well as supporting design and constructability acting as CRE Track. Our engineering service has successfully taken on the role of CRT management for all contractors, through collaboration with the project partners.
Hedson Rail’s team has played an important part in delivering project milestones on time throughout the project lifecycle, for both the Balfour Beatty and now Atkins Global teams.
Due to commission by Easter 2015, the EKR project is on its way to delivering the necessary increased capacity into London for the High Speed 1 Line. This is through a combination of upgrading the signalling system including replacing life expired signalling infrastructure and providing a new station at Rochester.
